I formatted one of my books as a pdf this morning and Adobe told me it was a large document and would I like it summarized? I almost spit at the screen. An entire year of squeezing out the perfect words, making them pull together in the best manner to generate emotion and stimulate thought—reduced to Cliff Notes in seconds!
Just imagine: all the classics are online now. Students need only download into Adobe and have the whole book summarized and read in minutes! I despair for future generations who will never know the pleasure of sitting beside a fire, immersed in other worlds.
The tech billionaires are turning us into a world of Borgs with no imagination or creativity. And on that note, if you have Apple TV, have you tried Pluribus? That could be us someday if we quit thinking as individuals and give into machines!
Give me real books, not regurgitated pablum!
