I’ve always been fascinated by astrology and how it identifies personality traits through sun signs or moon signs or whatever. (Fascinated enough that I wrote MAGIC IN THE STARS so I could do a little more research!) But the one astrological event that I’ve really latched onto is Mercury retrograde—when Mercury appears to go backward in the skies. The theory is that Mercury rules communication, transportation, and technology, so if your computer is going to blow, this is the time it will give it up. And trying to communicate with any clarity requires multiple efforts of misunderstanding. Apparently the month of October was packed with bad astrological events, and I had my fair share of hits. But since we’re not traveling anymore—we didn’t have to worry about transportation! Let’s just hope the covers created for my spring releases aren’t affected.
