Happy St. Patty’s to ye!

Saint Patrick could be a Patty, not a Paddy, so I’m claiming the day as my own. I’m half Irish, my name is Pat, I’m wearing the green. Well, maybe not shamrock green since it makes me look yellow. Have you ever had your “colors” done? I’m a “true autumn.” Have you noticed how exceedingly difficult it is to find clothes in your color in the wrong season? And now that designers seemed to have limited our color palette to four or five per year, and two of them are black and white. . . I’m saving a lot of money by not buying clothes.

March 23rd is the day THE LIBRARIAN’S SPELL, the fourth book in the School of Magic historical romance series is released, so I can celebrate the whole month, right?

Book cover for The Librarian’s Spell

And just in case you haven’t seen the cover blurb, here it is:

Can a timid librarian and a bold engineer save a castle’s toppling tower of books?

The stereotypical reserved librarian, Lydia Wystan has only one true love, the books that whisper to her. But unless she can understand the whispers, she cannot become what she wants to be more than anything—the Malcolm Librarian.

Maxwell Ives has a disastrous gift for attracting women, a trait that has resulted in three sons and a desire for solitude. Returning to England to find a school for one of his boys, Max seeks privacy in the isolated Malcolm library. But to Max’s dismay, the old librarian dies, leaving Miss Wystan, a female, in charge. Before he can run far, far away, he learns the library tower is in danger of toppling, and his cousin is stealing from his mother’s School of Malcolms.

To save the library and Max’s family funds, Lydia must claim to be what she is not—a real librarian. Fascinated that his magnetism doesn’t affect the one woman who can help him, Max must choose between his freedom and his family. In the process of helping others, Max and Lydia just might learn that sometimes, love is the secret that makes magic happen.

  1. In case you haven’t read last years news, we had two hurricanes back to back here in S.W. Louisiana. We evacuated along with our daughter and son-in-law to the Hill Country in Texas. My youngest son was going to stay at the hospital where he works but the closer the first hurricane got, he decided to evac. to New Orleans so he left after us and returned before. After checking out our house, it was too damaged for us to come home so we moved in with him for a couple of months. When our daughter finally got electricity, we moved in with her. My major worry? My keeper books…hundreds of them. I had broken my leg in Aug. so my kids and hubby wouldn’t let me see our house…my books and 2 Kindles….sniff. But my youngest braved the debris and saved almost all my books….yours included. Our house was still standing but unlivable. Second hurricane finished it off. We’ve been back home since Jan. and happy to be here. My daughter’s house will have to be razed…water in the walls. They have a second house though, so until the house is rebuilt, it’s still livable. The son we stayed with had very little damage and was repaired quickly. Our older son had his completely rebuilt and just moved back in this week.
Back to my books. I loved the first series Merely Magic and just finished rereading the duo Small Town Girl and Sweet Home Carolina….loved them. Rereading my ‘saved keepers’ is like having a whole new library.
    Keep ’em coming….

    • Oh my, Louise, you are made of sturdy stock! The thought of losing my home–and books!!–gives me cold shivers, and your whole family has suffered through this! Kudos to you, my lady. And I’m thrilled the books survived. In a moist climate, they’re usually the first things to go. Thank you for the kind words and keep on reading!

  2. I was looking for your books in the first historical romance series with this family beginning with Merely Magic, and saw that not only are they currently not available on Kindle, but book five in that series is currently not available on Audio. Will they all be made available again at some point? I had bought them all before, but I could see someone clicking on the links to buy them on Kindle, or looking in the series for the audio versions and being very confused.

    • Stefanie, thank you for looking! You caught this series in transition–I just got the rights back from the publisher. So the publisher is pulling their copies and I’m not quite ready to put up mine. They’ll be getting all new covers which I think are fabulous and worth the wait. Audio, though, is a different problem. I stopped working with Audible some years back. And the amount of work it takes to create an audio books is so excessive that I simply can’t find the time, I’m sorry!
